Teachings of the Buddha and Jesus for World Peace

Teachings of the Buddha and Jesus for World Peace

I am leading a social movement to educate people to emerge from ignorance in order to lead a just and righteous life in India and South east Asian countries.  This initiative, known as the "Dharma Soldier Education and Reform Movement," seeks to eliminate social, political, economic, and environmental injustices and suffering. It has gained international recognition and acclaim as a contemporary reform movement. My teachings are for all religious people because I teach a morally-based Art of Living, which is beneficial for both Buddhists and Christians.

Inter religious understanding:

Interfaith understanding is crucial; by engaging with the Dharma Soldiers Movement to combat social disorder and corruption, individuals can foster peace and harmony. By working together to solve their problems, they will have a good understanding among themselves.  Therefore, there won’t be religious discrimination and conflicts in the future.

According to the Dalai Lama, it is possible to practice Buddhist principles while still being a Christian.

The Buddha and Jesus Christ

There is a similarity in the four directives in both religions: no killing, no stealing, no lying, and no adultery or sexual misconduct. No matter what the religion or the culture, these are actions that tear at the fabric of human community, crying out for restraint.

Both the Buddha and Jesus outline a path of detachment from self and encourage compassion towards others.

Comparatively speaking, Christianity and Buddhism pay close attention to what happens after man's death and use man's goodness or evil in this life to determine the fate of man's hereafter. In Buddhism, "life" is the result or retribution from Karma, so its essence is suffering.

On the other hand, there are compelling similarities. The spirit of compassion, bodhicitta in Sanskrit, is as central to Buddhism as love is to Christianity.

Christians believe in God, whereas Buddhism has no god. The Buddha showed the way, while Jesus said he was the way. Christianity promises believers eternal life, while Buddhism’s highest state, the state of enlightenment, is freedom from being reborn.

So be a Dharma Soldier to practice the teachings of the Buddha and to be a good friend to all the Christians in the world. Proper understanding between two major religions in the world will definitely bring peace and harmony in a word where wars are fought and innocents will die.
